We live in a society where people are obsessed with the way they look. Each year, many people spend millions of dollars on cosmetic surgery and diet pills. Social media has joined the ranks of the constant “perpetuation” of “perfection” of oneself. We don’t have to wonder what message is being sent because unfortunately, the message that is being received is the false identity of oneself. More than just a cliché, beauty does start within. God does not make mistakes. Scripture tells us “we are fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalms 139:13). As a believer in Christ, this is a truth I faithfully stand on! In His eyes, I am seen as perfect! When we can truly see that beauty lies within and one’s outward appearance (looks) is not what defines a person. Only then can we once and for all get off of the proverbial “rollercoaster of superficiality”. Today, I encourage you to find out what God says about His children. “You are fearfully and wonderfully made”. Now that’s the essence of true beauty!
